Plasma technology
Advantages of plasma
Plasmas are ionized gases. They can produce very high concentrations of energetic and chemically active species. The temperatures and energy densities of some plasma components are significantly higher than those of conventional chemical technologies.
Due to these characteristics, our plasma reactors enable a significant intensification of the efficiency of conventional chemical processes.
Our overall plasma systems
The layout of our plasma systems covers the entire value chain. The core element is the reactor with signal generator, which enables a wide bandwidth signal generation.
Our reactor layout can generate both low-pressure and high-pressure plasmas according to customer requirements.
A broadband measuring system ensures the direct power measurement of the plasma as well as the overall system. Our concepts are characterized by operational safety, easy handling and high-quality materials.
Possible applications
Our plasma reactors create reaction environments for a variety of application areas.
A special feature is the possibility of energy storage through pyrolysis reactions. For example, methane can be converted into valuable C building blocks and hydrogen with the help of our reactor. The reactor can be operated with renewable surplus energies and carbon sources. This enables a CO2-neutral approach to energy storage.
In addition, plasma catalytic reactions such as nitrogen fixation can be used. Taking a climate-neutral approach by operating the system with renewable energies, our reactor concept favors the yields of ammonia synthesis.
